4. I have 5 brothers and sisters
My oldest brother is 13 years older than I
My oldest sister is 12 years older than I
The next is a brother, 6 years older than I
Then another sister, 5 years older than I
Then my twin sister, who is 27 minutes older than I
Then me.

It's almost like my mom and dad had 3 mini-families.

I am either the youngest or the third in line. We have a half-sister who alienated herself long ago.

I know what that's like. My youngest brother is like that with our family (he is very self center and is rude and thoughtless to most of his family)

18. I'm 7th of 8
Three boys and five girls, total. My dad was a teacher, and my mom stayed home.
The first 6 kids in my family were born within 9 years, then there was a 7 year gap, then came Me followed by my little sister.

When my little sister graduated from high school in 1986, my mom felt it was the end of an era - she had kids in public school from 1955-1986. :)

30. Yep - at X-mas we have over 40 people
all crammed into my mom's modest ranch house. It's fun, though. :)

Just the 8 kids + SOs and their kids = 36...then add in "their* SOs/and kids, and we have about 47.

Needless to say, we draw names for gifts. :)

26. well, it depends
if we're talking biologically, i'm the third of my father's three daughters. if we're talking about who i consider to be my family, i just have a younger sister.

without going into too much detail, the older two want absolutely nothing to do with us and that's fine by me because i want nothing to do with them.

There was one until I disowned it. My parents really dropped the ball with that one. Corrupt to the core. How it avoided jail, I don't know. I guess since I was first, that was enough.

Although my mother never should've had ANY children, much less eleven. It's amazing we turned out as well as we did.

I'm glad you enjoy all your sibs. It is good to be together with people who know you so well. :hi:

50. Oldest of 10, nine surviving, 5 & 5, ...

Youngest half-sister is 17 years younger. I am 62. One mother, my father passed early ( At 28, weak heart from childhood scarlet fever) after 5 children. My mother remarried about 4 years later and had 5 more. All one at a time. Number 8, my youngest brother died at 4 of acute leukemia in 1964. We all are close and loving, but, not surprisingly, none of has more than two children. My mother, 83, if she was still alive, would have 14 grandchildren and 5 and counting, great grand-children.

We were raised in Berkeley in a Catholic Worker/progressive/anti-establishment/intellectual/scholastic home. No television was permitted, or candy! We are a family of readers, talkers and doers. We grew up attending most political demonstrations in the SF Bay Area, with farm workers in the central valley, and with Native Americans and radiation survivors near the test site in Mercury, Nevada.

What a long strange trip it's been!

We were so fortunate to grow up when we did, where we did. it was a revolutionary era in terms of the 60's/70's cultural evolution, sparked largely in Berkeley/San Francisco/LA then spreading across the country.
