Do you believe in ghosts and evil spirits?
Would you be willing to spend a night alone in a remote house that was supposedly haunted? Would you do it for $50,000?

8. I believe in ghosts. I also think since they are supposedly human,
these spirits can be unkind. I am not sure I buy the Demonic stuff.

I would stay in a haunted house for $50,000 if the spirits are pleasant or neutral.

10. Evil spirits? No--Ghosts? was "agnostic" till I had an experience that I can't explain any other way
I'd have to think long and hard about the 50K offer, since I now am convinced they exist. Probably not... I think an encounter under those circumstances would freak me out more than the money would be worth to me.

14. Yes and no.
Yes I do believe, I realize that makes me superstitious, we all have flaws, this is one of mine.

No I would not do it, not because I necessarily believed the house was haunted, (anyone can tell a story) but because the real demons I would be facing that night, regardless of the possible spiritual denizens of the house, would be the spectres conjured up by my imagination, and it is very good at doing that, hence I try and give it as little opportunity as possible to do so.

15. Sort of
I have encountered ghosts, so yes, in my experience they are real. But what exactly do we mean by "evil spirits"? The rule of thumb is that if people who die become ghosts instead of crossing over into the light, they retain their personality traits from this lifetime, so some ghosts can be unpleasant. Or are we talking about entities who have never taken on a corporeal form on this plane? Some of those can be considered "evil"--they get their jollies from doing harm to humans. However, I don't believe the devil exists, and that goes for his minions as well, so if by "evil spirits" you mean demons, then no, I don't believe they exist.

Complicated, innit? :D

Would I stay in a haunted house for $50,000? HAH. I have LIVED in houses with ghosts. However (there's that qualifier again), if the haunted house is alleged to be populated by malevolent spirits, like an Amityville sort of arrangement, then I'd have to say no--unless I had some of my spiritual-studies peeps with me. Then I'd feel more confident about being able to hold them off/banish them. I could do it by myself, but my insecurity might get the better of me and make me doubt myself.

yes, but they're mostly living ones. ;)

But I'll stay in a haunted house any night.

I've seen horrors... horrors that you've seen. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror. Horror has a face... passion... without judgment... without judgment. Because it's judgment that defeats us.

24. Four parts to this question
Do you believe in ghosts
Yes. Due to my own personal experiences and those of some close family members, I think they do exist

Do you believe in evil spirits
What do you define as being "evil spirits"? I believe there may be spirits that have malevolent intentions and feelings. Whether they are evil or not, is a philosophical question. Many spirits may have committed evil deeds in their human form or are haunted by events that happened while they were on earth and may give the aura of being evil but are really haunted/tortured souls seeking peace.

Would you be willing to stay in a house that was supposedly haunted?
It would depend on what type of haunted house it was. If it were a haunted house where the spirits in question had a reputation for behaving in a malevolent fashion, I would do it only if I had many people to keep me company. If the haunted house was one where you could sense or even witness the presence of the spirit but it either kept to itself and went about its own business and/or was friendly/non-threatening, then I probably would be willing to live there

Would you do it for $50,000?
See above answer

28. I'd spend a night alone in a "haunted" house.
I believe it's possible that "ghosts" and "evil spirits" exist. Certainly there are phenomenon that occur which we cannot explain except using terms like these. I think they're worth investigating without the hype. I don't believe these unexplained phenomenon are dangerous...they're just scary because we don't understand them.

34. I spent a few minutes in a room that was haunted by a
spirit that was deeply depressed and troubled. The room was very cold, and it was a hot summer day.

I did not see or hear anything. But I felt the presence of something that was hopeless and crying out for help. I ran out of that room.

I didn't know much of anything about ghosts at the time, other than trick-or-treating for Halloween. But I know what happened to me.

This room was in the back of a house my aunt was renting at the time. They did not use the room. No one discussed the room. I did get in trouble for going in there, because I had been told not to go there.

No, I would not spend the night in such a house.

You can think I am crazy if you like.

35. I work in an allegedly haunted place:
A large stately home in South Wales (complete with Butler's Pantry, Housekeeper's Room, Still Room....all very PG Wodehouse it is!) There are MANY ghost stories attached to the building. Some dating from last year, some from the early 20th century when servants reported odd goings-on. I can wander around the house on my own and get a very tangible sense of the past, but I have never seen anything that could be described as supernatural.

Perhaps you need to be tuned to a certain wave-length to detect such things? Maybe I'm not sensitive enough? I am one of life's sceptics anyway.

It is just as well though, since the occultist Aleister Crowley (known as 'The Great Beast') stayed regularly at the house. I don't think I'd want to experience any spirit that HE would have left behind!

Sometimes it's good and warm; sometimes, it's not. You wouldn't have to pay me to spend the night in a house "supposedly haunted." It'd just be another place to sleep.
