Are there any things you avoid, because an old flame liked them?
And seeing/hearing those things reminds you of the old flame?

The thread on Werner Herzog put me in mind of this. I was briefly involved with a woman who loved Herzog movies. Even now, it's painful for me to see even a minute of Herzog celluloid, as it reminds me of this failed relationship.
