Does your cat like sweet corn?
The barn cats here always seem to jump right in the compost bin and pick at the cobs whenever we have Sweet corn.

WTF?

1. I never noticed for sweet corn
but Mamakitty likes ANY kind of corn product - tortillas, chips, corn bread, and especially dog food - which is not good because it makes her hack all over the house.

2. Chester was WILD for corn silk.
As soon as I would bring home fresh corn from the market, he would be in the bag rooting it out. He would eat a whole handful of it happily.

3. My mom had a SIamese cat crazy for corn on the cob.
She'd whine and carry on until we threw her an ear.
Then she's gnaw away at it. Poor thing. Kitty teeth are not designed for eating corn on the cob. The ear would be sort of punctured all over...quite messy.

4. oh yes.
my cat would go berserk (like it was catnip) when I started peeling (husking?) the corn. I would always scrape a bunch of kernels into a bowl for him. a real treat.

6. Yep.
Our oldest one loves it. I always give her a little bit, not too much tho, as a treat substitute.

7. Yes. My old cat Charles (the same one who ate balloons)
Edited on Tue Aug-11-09 08:15 PM by The Velveteen Ocelot
loved corn. He would beg for the husks, and was happy to chew on the cobs. I don't know if he liked the corn itself, or the butter, but it was fun to watch him try to gnaw the corn off. Cats don't have exactly the right sort of teeth for it.

10. Maxine would climb into the pot on the stove...
after it cooled down, and pop out a few corncobs. Then worry them all over the house.

Both cats loved cornflakes.

She'll eat the corn off my plate if I bring my food up to my room to eat it. That's how come I eat downstairs.
