I need help IDing something in my saltwater tank.
For those who know saltwater tanks, or marine life in general. I got a 'hitchhiker' on my latest few pounds of live rock. I have no idea what this thing is. It is a sac-like pod that is squishy to the touch and does not move. Any ideas?

1. I believe you have an aiptasia with its tentacles retracted
This animal is the kudzu of the marine world, except it has stingers.

3. You know? I don't think it is aiptasia.
It doesn't seem like anything is retracted. It looks like a solid 'pod'. Like a cocoon from a spider's nest.

4. That's one of those Skynet chips. We're doomed.
You should have thrown it in the molten steel.

8. About a quarter of an inch round.
Maybe a third of an inch. No movement, and it is soft.

;) Seriously, now since you have it identified, can you tell me the name of it? I once had something in my freshwater aquarium (doesn't have it anymore) I had a really hard time to get identified.

Seems like there's always some hitchhikers if you buy stuff from a pet/fish store. You'd be amazed if you buy a pond lily and find out that it was full of goldfish eggs ...
