John Kenneth Galbraith's "locked outside the hotel room naked" fantasy come true

How I met your mother, the adult version



I'd always considered it an urban legend, or perhaps a set up for a Benny Hill skit, but according to Snopes.com people getting locked outside their hotel rooms naked is a relatively common occurrence and even happens to really smart people. Still, I'm not quite sure I want to see this incident included in the John Kenneth Galbraith biographical miniseries, even if they do leave out the "bom chicka wow-wow" music as he politely asks the Swedish stewardesses next door if he can borrow their New York Times long enough to step down to the concierge's desk.

1. It happened to someone I used to work for.
He was staying at a very fancy hotel for a conference and they brought a breakfast cart to his door and knocked. He went out into the hall in his boxers only and the door closed behind him. When the door to one of his business associates hotel rooms opened he crouched down and hid behind the breakfast cart. He didn't want to go down to the front desk in his boxers, so he just waited until some hotel staff came by to help him. The story was really funny when he was telling it.
