Music legend dies

No I don't mean Les Paul, although his influence can never be underestimated. No, I'm talking about Memphis legend Jim Dickinson. Mr. Dickinson died in his sleep on August 15. He was 67.
Mr. Dickinson was instrumental in bringing the "Memphis Sound" to the forefront. He rediscovered legends such as Sleepy John Estes, R.L. Burnside and others, recorded them, and the rest is history. He also had two vert talented sons, Luther and Cody who make up two thirds of the Grammy nominated North Mississippi All Stars. May he Rest in Peace. Jim, your work will never be forgotten.

Besides being a great musician, he was also a world class raconteur. He could talk as well as he could play.

I happened to hear Dirty on Yo Momma (the only song of his I've knowingly heard) and went looking for lyrics to see if I hate the song as much as I think I do. Didn't find any lyrics but noticed that he passed yesterday.
