we only had margarine, and he asked me, "do you have any proper butter?" I said no, just improper butter. :-)

10. I say that when I tell people that I live in Virginia.
And they say, "West Virginia?"

And I say, "No, Virginia proper"

And then they look at me with their head tilted like a dog that's just heard a high pitched noise because they are dumbasses who didn't know that Virginia and West Virginia are two different states to begin with and certainly have no idea what the word "proper" means.
