WHY do people hate?
Edited on Mon Aug-17-09 02:19 PM by UrbScotty
Why do they hate people who disagree with them?

Why do they hate people based on who those people love?

Why do they hate people who don't adhere exactly to their political or religious views?

Not all people hate - far from it. But one is one too many.

If only I knew...

7. Yeah. It's sad how some will find any excuse
to bash other people.

5. People are people
... so why should it be?

You and I should get along so awfully?

So we`re dif-fer-ent colors,

And we`re dif-fer-ent creeds,

And dif-fer-ent people,

Have dif-fer-ent needs.

It`s obvious you hate me,

Though I`ve done nothing wrong.

I`ve never even met you,

So what could I have done?,

        I can`t understand,

        What... makes a man,

        Hate another man.

        Help me understand!

            (Help me under-sta-yand!)

8. Because hatred is easier.
Love and acceptance can be tough, grueling, heartbreaking even. Love and honesty force us to try to be better people and sometimes it's too hard.

No one is perfect and we have all given into the darker side of human nature at one time or another. Listening, love and acceptance aren't easy but they are worth the battle.

I think this says it best:

An old Cherokee was teaching his young grandson one of life’s most important lessons. He told the young boy the following parable:

“There is a fight going on inside each of us. It is a terrible fight between two wolves,” he said.

“One wolf is evil. He is anger, rage, envy, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, resentment, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego."

"The second wolf is good. He is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, truth, compassion, and faith.”

The grandson thought about this for a moment. Then he asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win this fight?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

11. Because hate is easy
and hate is lazy.
I hate onions so any dish with onions in it I must hate as well.
Oh you like onions? WTF what kind of person likes onions? Nobody that "I" would want to know.
Wait you hang out with a bunch of onion lovers? You must have a flaw of some sort.
And that one time you posted that you think "Meatloaf isn't meatloaf without onions"?
You said it!! I got a screen cap so three years from now when I see your onion loving ass post something,I'm going to throw it up in your face._uck you!
_ucking onion cliques here. I hate this Pro-Onion forum.
Now I like Garlic, so I'm only associating with that crowd.
They after all must be better since they have the moral clarity to understand that it's wrong to like onions.
Hate is shortcut to negation.
All I know is that one thing you did or said or like,so I can therefor hate you. :woohoo:

Okay I'm done now.

13. Because we are social critters.
We seek unity with our tribe, but we also seek to increase our status in the tribe, often at the expense of others.

We hate cheaters, those who interfere with our own status-seeking.

14. In my opinion hate is inherent in most human beings
Edited on Tue Aug-18-09 08:44 AM by Haole Girl
I suppose there are a few who rarely, if ever, hate. Many times in my life I've wished it was the other way around.

15. a good song from Tracy Chapman
Why

Why do the babies starve
When there's enough food to feed the world
Why when there're so many of us
Are there people still alone

Why are the missiles called peace keepers
When they're aimed to kill
Why is a woman still not safe
When she's in her home

Love is hate
War is peace
No is yes
And we're all free

But somebody's gonna have to answer
The time is coming soon

Amidst all these questions and contradictions
There're some who seek the truth

But somebody's gonna have to answer
The time is coming soon
When the blind remove their blinders
And the speechless speak the truth

16. It is normal to hate that which is hateful.
The problem comes from hate triggered by prejudices and other lies.
