Elle Mag’s Must Haves for the Fall
1. Camel Coat (I think I have one from the 70’s)
2. Cape (did I ever have one except at Halloween?)
3. Toggle (I had those on my camel hair car coat)
4. Robe Tie (ok, I can wear my bathrobe and feel hip)
5. Mini Dress (no comment)
6. Neon (wow, so many choices and will be so last year…next year)
7. Grecian (omigod, not even good in Greece)
8. One-sleeve (NO, NO, NO)
9. Deep V-Neck blouse (lift those girls!)
10. Lace Blouse (didn’t we do this last year? May be leftovers)
11. White Shirt (definitely timeless and standard. I can do this!)
12. Optical Stripes (nautical always fun)
13. Menswear (snnnnnoooooozzzzzeeeee)
14. Draped Skirt (80’s anyone?)
15. Leather Shorts (lederhosen anyone? I have old ones from the 60’s, can you get those dry-cleaned???)

16. Legging pant (yeah, yeah, yeah)
17. Embellished biker (Good for grommet businesses?)
18. Tuxedo (ok, haven’t we done this to death?)
19. Ruffles (Princess Diane anyone? They do cover the wattles though.)
20. Chalk Stripe (ya mean like those male conservatives wear on CNBC?)

Whew…talk about recycling. Just go to your local
Salvation and Goodwills

1. I crack myself up....
ok, a little residual martini speaking.
Apologies to all the high paid
predictors of fashion but can we
say re-runs, retreads, reworked?

6. Lists like these make me REALLY ENJOY being 43
and working from home.

It is to laugh. Ha! And...HA!

Okay, I did my share of weird fashions in the '80s, so I've paid my dues. Now I can ignore "must haves" and just watch the sideshow of twentysomethings and thirtysomethings toddle around in crap like this. (My latest big laugh--huge round sunglasses that makes girls look like bugs. I was kind of disappointed when the horizontal "smart girl" specs trend invaded the sunglasses realm. Took all the fun out of it.)
