I'm scared. A new donut shop opened in my neighborhood.
not a chain place, independantly owned! I hear the donut sirens calling. Their song is so enchanting.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO????!!!!!!

8. An amusing anecdote from my days with Starbucks.
I once had to work the late (not overnight, 7PM-2AM) shift in the 24 hour store in my district. At one point, there was nobody in the store except these two middle-aged CT state troopers who were having the most impassioned discussion of how unfair the stereotype was of cops hanging out all night in coffeeshops eating donuts...while they're sitting in a Starbucks eating espresso brownies and drinking lattes. I really think that each was angling for permission to get a glazed donut and a cup of black from the other...because they didn't really seem to be enjoying their dinner very much and they seemed way too concerned with appearances.

Now...paramedics...really do spend all day hanging out in the coffeeshop waiting for a call. I honestly think our local ambulance crew (my HS friend Sammy and his partner) might drink a brewer-carafe (2.775L) of coffee daily each. They just park the rig in our parking lot and wait for a call because we're across from the on-ramp to the interstate, located on the main drag through town, right smack in the middle of their coverage zone.

12. The real reason cops hang out in donut shops
back in the day, they were the only places open 24 hours, so when the cops needed a coffee/bathroom break, that's where they went.

6. don't go in even one time
if you don't add the new place to your schedule it will become invisible to you

for me it helps that i know how donuts make me feel, sick, bloated, and hung-over, definitely not worth the taste, which is sickening sweet anyway

just stay away (unless you need a cop) and save yourself the self-hating

we don't have to support every independent business, besides, most small business people around here are GOP so it makes it pretty easy to not give them my $$$

21. An independent shop? They probably have CAKE donuts.
The real solid, heavy, clunky sort of donuts. I'm hooked on those!

I have to drive past one of those places every morning, a shop where the staff yells at each other in Polish. Sometimes the steering wheel just turns and the car parks in the lot. It's possessed! Only explanation I can think of.

Bon Apetit!

:hi:
