If you can think of a better way to spend your evening than to sit in the grandstand watching five heats of eight cars rip around three huge tires, then I submit that you're crazy.

As proof of the ass-kicking awesomeness, here's a pic of the car that didn't win:

If the car that won is even more awesomer than this car, how awesome do you think the whole race was?

Fucking awesome is how.

1. i've only been to one dirt track race and I had a blast
it was in the middle of a very red central Illinois, but it was a total blast. Getting sprayed by dirt every time the cars round the corner is something everyone should experience.

2. I went with my two young sons
We sat pretty high in the stands, because the five year old was afraid of debris flying off of the track. He was also a little bit upset at the cars banging into one another, until I assured him that the drivers were well protected and were having fun doing what they enjoy.

I'm not a race fan by any means (what little I know about NASCAR, I learned from watching Cars), but as a once-per-year event, it was a surprisingly fun spectacle!

There's no accounting for spelling, apparently.

6. Oh man! The school bus ones were SO awesome.
My mom and dad used to take us to the races a few times each summer.

We really looked forward to it.

And my dad used to work the pit for most of the drivers so after the race we'd get to go down on the track and sit in the cars.

GREAT memories!

That's some crazy shit! I love how they dress them up.
