eta for Bertha: yes, I hate. I hate unrepentantly vile humans who harm children physically and emotionally. I hate political leaders who kill people--or allow them to die-- just because they can.
I dislike or can't stand many others but hate is too intense for me to use indiscriminately.

It doesn't constantly eat at me though, so I don't know that I can call it "hate". I have learned to ask myself is there anything I can do about it *right now.* If not then I'm just wasting my energy being angry.
Right now I'm sitting next to a happy, purring kitty and a breeze is blowing in through the window, so I don't hate anything at the moment. :loveya:

7. I hate actions, but not people.

I hate when evil or malice or mean-spirtedness or intentional ignorance consumes a person. But I can't hate the person him/herself. I like to think that even the worst people once had a potential to be good, and given the opportunity, could once again turn good.

15. I hate the lying two faced dishonest pricks

who stabbed me and my ex-boss at NIH in the back and not only ruined the best job I EVER had but helped seriously damage a good man's career and effectively blacklisted me from NIH. Kinda hard not to take that personally. And although time has healed the wounds somewhat, I'm never gonna stop hating these people who stand for everything I loathe both personally and professionally
