I took an English lit class in college while she was wielding power, and the professor, who'd spent some time in England, referred to her as "Milk Snatcher Thatcher" - for cutting school lunches.

Here's a joke for you:

Margaret Thatcher was having dinner out with her ministers. The waiter asked her what she'd like.

"Roast beef", she said.

"Fine," said the waiter. "And what about the vegetables?"

"They," she said, "will have the same".
