I'm falling for someone who's moving across the country in two weeks.
And I'm going away to university in two and a half weeks.

Damn, my timing sucks.

1. Long distance relationships are difficult, but not imposible.
If you think there is a chance of this being a real, serious relationship then it might be worth the effort.

I'm sorry about the distance though. It's not going to make anything easy. :(

2. 15 years ago the person I was dating moved to another state
after we dated for 3 months. We traveled back and forth between TX and LA for 6 months. The 7th month that person moved back to live with me in TX. We have been together since then....nothing is impossible!

4. Tools of the trade in long-distance relationships:
Skype (an absolute must)
email
SMS
message-boards/facebook/twitter/whatever
physical addresses
phone numbers

My girlfriend is in and a native of New Zealand. We've been going online for almost two years. We've met in person once (for a week, last April) and once I'm working again, I'll be able to help her get a special visa to move here.

Also, my first wife (married for about 7.5 years) and I met online and courted online for five months before she moved here from Canada.

So, it's not at all impossible and can still be done quite successfully. It only requires that you both persevere in remaining in contact, do things for one another and build the relationship, such that the distance becomes a "distant" problem :7

5. This happened to me when I was 14, in 1967. Don 't think I'm over it yet.

6. I feel your pain.
You may remember why.

She did enjoy her Canadian adventure, though.
