I just discovered The Flaming Lips...

Well I have heard of them before. But I never listened to their music.

But after listening to just a couple songs, I am now in love.

2. Even though I know that smoking pot could send me into a psychotic episode...

I really want to smoke just a little in hopes that I don't wig out so I can listen to this music high.

3. It's really a shame that MTV chose to put that song into rotation

It's a throwaway novelty ditty that doesn't really represent their range or depth IMO.

MTV did play another one of their tunes, I think made at a later date than that one. I can't remember the name of it, but in the video the lead singer didn't have orange hair- salt and pepper.

I heard about them for years. But I always assumed they were heavy metal or something, so I never listened to them. I finally downloaded a few of their songs ad was hooked. Have you ever read the bio of the band? It's pretty incredible. You can't make up stuff that unreal. Check them out at http://www.allmusic.com

17. They have easily the greatest entrance in the history of rock 'n' roll.

I mean, the whole show is unbelievable, but when the band first takes the stage at a Flaming Lips show ... well, I've never seen anything even remotely like it.
