Just got back from Boston(business ) , nice town
Edited on Sat Aug-22-09 02:52 PM by UndertheOcean
This is the first time I see downtown Boston . Got lost due to the damn GPS , which doesn't seem to be accurate in Boston , we where trying to find "Ye Old Oyster House" and ended up in a residential Area . After finding the place we discovered that the waiting time was 45 to 60 minutes! We ended up eating at a place called the salty dog.

That's the only fun I had there , makes me want to vacation in the Area in the future . Very nice town indeed. with really old houses (by American Standards)

1. Sounds like you had the typical Boston experience.
Glad you enjoyed it.

2. GPS in the city with streets that were originally cow paths.... oh my!
Downtown Boston is easy on foot (or walking in combo with the T) but driving isn't for tourists.
I hope that you have a chance to get in to Union Oyster on your next trip to Boston.

3. It's a great city. I've loved living there for two years
Actually, I've loved living there for one year, now that I've moved out of the sticks and into the Fenway where I can really enjoy everything it has to offer.

4. I've heard of the Salty Dog, but I've never eaten there.
How was it?

6. I've worked in downtown Boston
That was over 30 years ago. But I always spend at least one night a year there right around the corner from
where you were, on Long Wharf.

I still love that city. If I ever retire and move back to the USA full time, I'm kissing Dallas bye bye and
settling in Boston.

7. Ya gotta go to the NO Name
Resturaunt, on the fish pier. Absolutely awesome, no frills at all. And Legal Seafoods is very good - everything on the plate is a masterpiece.
And some things about Boston traffic don't change.....
