What's that at the bottom on an oven?
The bake element? mine's broken........is it expensive to repair?

4. Define broken?
Did you actually break the element? Is it just not coming on? In the first case, no...rather cheap. In the second case, it depends why it's not coming on...but usually it's not cheap to fix.

5. I lifted it up.........
and noticed it snapped right through near the back. No, it's not coming on. The broil element comes on still.

Now I know why my oven hasn't been heating up as it should.

7. So I tell my landlord the bake element is broken?
Don't want to have to say that thingy at the bottom of my oven is broken. :)

an element is basically another burner. They break from time to time.
