watched first 3 eps of Madmen last night

And I'm getting drawn in. Thinking about renting the next handful tonight.

So to those who've seen it, is it worth the time commitment? I'd hate to learn that season 2 goes of the rails or something.

1. I'd say it's definitely worth the time commitment

The second season is good as well, and the third season, which just began airing last week, is off to a great start. The writing is great, there are some really strong characters, and (as so many have commented) the set design is great too. I highly recommend it.

and I like it a lot. Very smart, very well-done.

Having grown up during those days, I can vouch for its authenticity, too. Scary good............................

4. it`s worth every minute and it does`t go off the rails.

the series is very expensive to produce because everything in the show is correct. the suits and womans clothes were tailored to the actors and the set design materials and the hardware are flawless.

i was hooked the first time i watched the show. sorry, no spoilers from me!

Great writing, a fantastic cast plus they weave the history of the time period into the stories. The first time I saw it was the last show of the first season. I was hooked and hadn't even seen the other shows.

8. Elisabeth Moss kicks ass in her role as Peggy Olson.

She's up for an Emmy this year, and deserves to win IMHO.

(I'm only halfway through the 2nd season.)

The first season is more mood-oriented and establishes the main characters, while season 2 is more plot-oriented and delves even further into the characters' lives, particularly the supporting cast.
