speaking of Bowie (Swede was, at least) I tried watching The Man Who Fell to Earth
last night and gave up about 40 minutes in. It was moving a bit too slow and felt too, I don't know, sterile and distanced or something. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood. Should I make another attempt? Is it a rewarding movie by the end?

1. Not really - but interesting
I thought it was good, but that was a long time ago. (And I'm a big Bowie fan)

2. see the whole thing
The shot of bowie shouting at the WALL of teevees all on different channels predated my anger at the 24 hour news cycle by at least ten years.

It was a challenging pic but up there amongst my favs. Nic Roeg is a winner in my book, for Walkabout, Insignificance, MWFTE.

3. It was tough to watch the whole thing is all I remember about it.
Nicolas Roeg made some strange movies.

5. I watched it many, many moons ago.
If I remember correctly it may play better if one is in a slightly altered state. :hi:

6. I saw it when it came out in the '70s
I thought it was incomprehensible.

I was told it would have made more sense if I had read the story on which it was based

7. Love that movie but I like surrealist shit
It doesn't follow the book exactly, but does keep the intent intact. Same dude who wrote "The Hustler" (Walter Tevis).
