It was recommended by another DUer. If you are into progressive metal, check it out. Good stuff.

14. It's straight ahead death metal. Opeth without the fancy parts.
Akerfeldt sang for them on their first EP and full CD back in 2002, then another singer took over until 2008 when Akerfeldt came back for another EP, a live CD from Wacken, and a new studio CD that's pretty kickass. They're not Opeth, but still a solid band.

7. I'm just listening to the Chill channel on Sirius.
I've got Cloverfield showing (muted) in one corner of the TV while DU is on the other side. I'm sitting on the couch with an ice cold martini and my pipe.

Not an excitig Saturday night but relaxing.

9. At the moment, The Backyardigans. Last night, however...
Some Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, Ryo Okumoto (keyboardist of Spock's Beard), John Forte and Pete Yorn. Later today, probably whatever is on satellite radio on the way to see The Wiggles. And the traffic report. Technically, neither of those are in my iPod or CD player. (Although it makes me wonder if anybody collects old traffic report broadcasts.)

Magnificent version of a magnificent song....I remember Eric Clapton saying this when asked about great songwriters; something to the effect that there were 2 categories...Bob Dylan, and everybody else..........I love the Temps; no one had a more soulful voice than David Ruffin, and Kendricks, the Williamses, and Melvin Franklin were no slouches either, but Motown wouldn't have been Motown without Jamerson, Benny Benjamin and the rest...if you haven't seen Standing in the Shadows of Motown, the movie about The Funk Brothers, I really recommend it, even though it's really pretty sad..... I drove from New Mexico to Chicago with James Jamerson's son ( James Jr.) a few years ago, and he had some wild stories, and some great rehearsal and soundcheck tapes he played for me on that ride...another random reminiscence: Phil Spector ( when he was just psycho and not a murderer) saying how Reach Out I'll Be There was a massive change of musical direction for Motown because it was really "Motown Dylan" due to the Dylanesque phrasing... If you feel that you can't go ON, because all of you hope is GONE, and your life's filled with much con-FEW-sion, until happiness is just an ill-OO-sion...
