Poll question: Shopping cart or buggy?
I hate calling it a buggy because it sounds too much like "bugger". I do notice that most people who work at the grocery call them buggies. What do you call them?

1. Sounds regional...
I've never heard them referred to as buggies here in WNY (Rochester)

3. If it doesn't have a motor in it then it can't be a buggy.

4. I never heard the term "shopping buggy" til
I lived in South in the late 70s. I assume it's regional, and that the "buggy" part is analogous to "baby buggy".

6. What's a buggy?
I use a basket when I want to make sure I don't accidentally buy more than I intended to.

10. Personally, shopping cart. But when I worked at a grocery store in Colorado, we called them buggies.
I think at work it was just part tradition, part shorthand. "Grab the buggies" seemed to sound better for some reason.
