"Smite me, motherf**cker!" -- True Blood last night with spoilers
Edited on Mon Aug-24-09 11:11 AM by Hell Hath No Fury
That has got to be my new favorie line of the entire series. :D

Last night's episode was a bit of a let down -- it felt like a filler -- but after the superb Godric-meets-the-sun epsiode of last week, anything else would pale in comparison.

Jason was pretty hysterical last night -- the amused responses to his increasingly over the top actions had me in stiches. I love how the Maryanne Zombies are slightly stupid and so easily distracted at the worst times. Jason as God was way too much fun! The whole thing about good crops and the satisfactory sacrifice -- it was fun watching the character riff on what a god would say. And Sam was one smart doggy -- incredibly clever for him to make his exit that way -- though he is gonna have some 'splainin' to do when things settle down. Jason looked positively delighted/in awe at Sam's trick -- and poor Andy just had his mind blown. :D

That hand thing Sookie did to Maryanne -- that was unexpected, for us and her! Since she has never done that before, it must have something to do with Maryanne being an immortal. Loved Bill's response to sucking on a maenad. Are immortals truly indestrucible? No way to get rid of them except for them to move along on their own accord? The threat of Maryanne hanging over the town forever would be a bit unsettling, to say the least.

Tara's soul retrieval was intense -- I wonder if she will ever remember what she did while under the influence? Sookie got a peek -- will she ever reveal what she saw or let Tara remain in ignorant bliss? I love Lafayette's "Jesus and I agreed to see others" line -- so very Lafayette. Damn, that man if fine looking in his girl-drag -- very sex-ay!

I wonder if we are ever going to see "the God that is coming" in the spirit/flesh??

On edit:

Holy smokes, I completely forgot about Hoyt/Jessica/Mom!! Draining Mom just might put a little hitch in that romance. :D I loved Jason's open-mouthed response to getting hit on by Cougar Vamp! :D She was incredibly fun last night -- I am wondering if she is going to end up a vampire!

1. I am wondering what MaryAnn is going to do with Sam.
I guess she wants to sacrifice him, but why him? Why is he so special? And what about MaryAnn made Bill sick? I am loving Jason right now too!

I thought it ended a little early too. We didn't get a full hour that is for sure. Not that we ever do, but it seemed shorter than usual.

9. That's what was different!
I don't have a clock on my system, so I had no idea it was a 45 minute show -- I did notice id did feel odd, though.

As for Sam, Daphne did say that Maryanne wanted Sam because he did not bend to her will -- I could see her wanting to sacrifice his as punishment.

With Maryanne being an immortal, it would make sense that she was biologically different -- her "blood" was black, a good indication she was not the kind of nosh Vampire Bill was used to feasting on. He did say he had never encountered anything like her before -- there was no way for him to know she would be poisonous to him.

2. My wife was pissed that it ended at the 45 minute mark.
That being said, the whole Jason as Dioynsis was funny as hell, if somewhat cheesy.

but it was priceless. none the less. I was laughing my butt off the entire time! I especially loved it when flares started to go off and you can hear one of the zombies go, "Oooo, pretty!". :D

3. Questions about Andy.....
Anyone notice that he is not affected by Maryann's Powers. I mean he showed up at those orgy's and his eyes never turned black.

What Supe powers is he hiding?

5. Yes!
I have been wondering about that for some time now -- he can be drunk and right in the thick of things and not go zombie. I do know that he is related to Vampire Bill, but don't know if the family has any other supe history. Andy appears to me to be someone seriously tight -- he might be the kind of guy freaked out by somethig "different" about himself and actively work to supress it. I think we are being set up for a deeping of Andy's character.

6. Based on what I know from the books, no. She did not get that from Eric.
That's all I'll say... PM me if you want to know.

7. Yes, Bill glamoured her --
but just enough to let Sookie in with her telepathy. She has had that ability before the Eric incident -- I don't know if it was enhanced by exposure to Eric's blood.

8. I *THINK* she was referring to what happened when Sookie touched Maryann.
Maybe I'm wrong...

10. Ah yes, forgot about that!
And totally forgot there is something else about Sookie we haven't been introduced to yet -- I've read some spoilers about the character. :)

11. yes, when Sookie "touched" Maryann. Did that power possibly come
from last week when she sucked Eric's blood?

13. Jason-as-God with the gasmask and flares
reminded me of when Marty McFly used a hazmat suit and a walkman to inspire his dad's writing talents
