True fact: George Lucas originally intended the Ewoks to be directly related to the Force

Rather than fielding an army of saccharine proto-Furries, Lucas originally envisioned the Ewoks as a much more reserved culture, living quietly in harmony with nature and, by extension, the Force. In fact, he meant for them to be actually related to the Force in a manner analogous to the way that the much-derided midichlorians would later be portrayed.

The plans were scrapped when Lucas' entire creative staff threatened to walk out after learning that Lucas had conceived a name befitting their relationship to the Force; he intended to call them the Force-kin.

Frank Oz himself is said to have objected strongly, in a heated on-set exchange.

"Let me give you a tip about the Force-kin," Oz reportedly said. "Cut it off."

Then Jar Jar Binks came along and I hated him even worse. :grr:

Braised in a nice white wine sauce, and the gaminess is hardly noticeable.

But Jar-Jar tastes like crap no matter what you do to him; even the dogs turned their noses up at his smelly carcass.
