What is SEO web copy?
I saw a job posting for an SEO web writer and haven't a clue what it stands for.

1. SEO = Search Engine Optimization
Writing the copy such that web searches will be optimized for the site.

2. Thanks
I figured it was something like that. Now I can prepare myself to do some B.S.ing.

3. When I see requests for SEO copywriting, I really want to work a list of filthly words into the copy
Maybe that's not how they want their company represented on the Web, but they can't argue with the traffic they're getting!

4. You could work them into the metatags
And they'd never know!

5. An increasing number of search engines...
now ignore meta-data as it was found that people were basically listing every semi-related buzzword they could think of in order to boost page-hits and search results; this degraded the quality of search results. Now neither Google or Bing pays any attention to meta-tags and the w3c is considering issuing new guidelines on proper meta-data usage.

(This is what I learned two days ago sitting through 4 hours of lessons on HTML and CSS just to get a certification for my resumé...all for a piece of paper, hooray me!!)
