Max update: need funds for his blood blister treatment tomorrow

My cat Max is sick with a massive blood blister on his right ear and need to take him to the vet. I am trying to raise money to get him treated at the vet; only problem is that I'm disabled on a fixed income and cannot afford the vet care without outside help. I didn't know about the rule about prior permission from the admins to start a fundraiser. Without the funds to pay for vet treatment I have one of two difficult choices: allow the cat to suffer and face animal cruelty charges, or take him to the shelter and surrender him so he can get treatment--only I'd be minus my big baby. I need to make the payment(s) in full. $100 is all it takes to get him in one piece again. He got some of his spunk back, but he's not 100% and he goes to the vet tomorrow.

I have the money for the exam; that's just $30. It's the possibility of surgery I'm worried about. That might set me back hundreds, as a worst case scenario. I have enough to treat him if he doesn't require an operation, but I was told hematoma surgery at the SPCA is a minor operation. I just hope it's the same cost as was his neuter surgery last year.

Here's to Max's quick recovery and getting back to his kitty-routine!

The collection is now closed; I have reached my goal. Say a purr-ayer (or thoughts/vibes, depending on your religion or lack thereof) that Max, aka Kittenus Maximus, aka Mr. K. Rottenus, etc., recovers and returns to be the spunky big baby he was.

The second one appeared just after the first one healed. He used to whack his head on the coffee table - that's the nearest I can come to figuring out how he got them.

Anyway ... I don't remember the cost to have the procedures done. I do know there was a large disparity in costs between the two. I believe the second time my personal vet did it (the first time he wasn't available and it was done by someone else in the clinic) and it was more expensive. It was also better done, and more care was taken with my dog - the first time they seemed to have an "attitude" with him when I picked him up, they left him with a drain in his ear and were annoyed when he shook his head and sprayed blood all over the waiting room. Before that he'd never had a problem going to the vet - he's definitely had a problem ever since.

So... I went on an off topic ramble there but back to my original point, even though the second procedure was more expensive than the first one I don't remember either of them being extraordinarily so. I'm thinking you should be able to get out of there for under $100.
