I grew up in a rural area where it was no big deal to peel off your clothes and jump in the water. It just never seemed like a big deal.


But then, I'm always astonished to find that there are people who sleep with clothes on, too. :wtf:

Think about it: which is more ecologically responsible to wash, your jammies or your bedsheets?

I don't know about you, but I shower. :P


As for that other stuff, that's going to get on the sheets anyway. O8)

My friends and I had the perfect skinny-dipping spot back in the day, and it got a lot of use until the state tourism bureau decided to make it a stop on one of the scenic railroads that run around here. Its a nice spot for tourists, but it was a better spot when we had it to ourselves.

I also agree with you about the sleeping thing too. Clothes are uncomfortable to sleep in. :hi:

Never had the occasion present itself. Never been in a hot tub or played strip poker either for that matter. I'm just a barrel of fun ain't I?

Skinny dipping? Why, yes...yes I did. You park in their dirt lot on Highway 1, risk your life CROSSING Highway 1, and go through the gate below:

The skinny dipping was always fun and always private but I do regret streaking in public. It was for fun too but back then I really didn't know that exposing yourself by streaking in public was offensive and disrespectful to some and it was very inappropriate with kids, and I'm sure there were some, in the crowd.

A girlfriend and I used to sneak off to an appt complex late at night and skinny dip in their --> lighted <-- pool. There we'd be, lit up like xmas trees with 3 story appt balconies facing us on 4 sides.

Ahhh.... ignorant teenagers. I suspect we made more than a few people's nights, on those nights. :rofl:

Pelikas Beach on Corfu. Then mostly off the southern coast of Crete in the 80's. Of course those places are no longer the same, and I doubt if you still get away with it.

Unheated pool in New Hampshire. Bunch of us decided to brave it in autumn.

I think the headache lasted 6 months.

Later, I belonged to a clothing-optional resort in Topanga Canyon for a couple of years. Cool place.

I was a member in the late 80s for a couple of years.

A beautiful place that is no longer.

I moved to CA in the summer of 1982. I didn't need to work right off and was offered a couple of free places to live. I went to Elysium and met Ed Lang and his daughter and the other people who lived there. I got on the maintenance group and they let me live on the grounds. I also help John Paul with the orientations of new visitors on the weekends. It was a great summer.

I ended up giving up my membership because it was too long to commute there, and while fun, took too much time out of my weekend. I lived over in the Mid-Wilshire area.

I met Ed, too, who interviewed me when I joined. I heard that his daughters sold the place after he died because it had become too valuble as real estate.

On Sundays after everyone left we would go down to the fish market in Topanga and get some fish to grill then we would get something to share like corn on the cob or salad and go back to Elysium and sit on the grass in a circle and enjoy the company and meal together. That was great!

The reason they let me stay there was because they thought my naivete was "charming." I wanted to get the work done asap and they always said "why?" There was no rush to do anything there. They would move some logs, take a swig of beer, jump in the pool then move some more logs and repeat the process of beer and pool. That was on weekdays.

Also the first day I was there I asked for a ham sandwich with lettuce. I got a ham sandwich with bean sprouts. Being from Ohio just a few days before I never ate sprouts!

They kept me around for laughs!

It was just a really beautiful place, and as counterculture as could be. Very fun.

I liked the hot tub with a view, the swimming pool, the tennis courts, the big lawns, it was all good.

Then civilization happened.

One of the jets was just the right height for .................. The women was say "I love you jet #3". The jet was next the the 3 that meant 3 ft deep.

I met a lot of famous people there. Lynn Redgrave, Will Geer (who had his theatricom botanicum in Topanga) and others.

I didn't meet anyone famous there, though just living in LA I met them many other places.

There, just a lot of naked people!

This is where I grew up in north east NJ. The idea was to find a street where all the houses on one side had pools. Not the most difficult thing in my town. You would have a buddy drop off three or four people who would strip and throw their clothes in the car. Then all of you would have to go down the street by way of the back yards, swimming through each pool... jumping the fence if one was there until you got to the end of the street where you got in the car and drove off looking for another street :D

Look... it was Jersey, what the hell do you expect.

Last time was about 10 years ago. It was freaking hot as hell and myself, a co-worker and 3 guys we knew snuck into a pool at some apartment complex.

that's about as wild as I would get.

The weather was perfect, the ocean and waves were perfect. We had a perfectly good time.

Of course I met my wife at a nudist park in 1984. We've been skinny dipping with lots of friends since then


As a kid we use to swim nude in a river with a bunch of other kids boys and girls back in Ohio.

a piece of land owned by Oberlin College on the river, a fairly isolated spot where the college kids would go skinny-dipping. We also had a resevoir just outside town, back behind a golf course, where everyone went skinny-dipping, too

My sister has a in ground pool and hot tub in her back yard and I used to house sit/dog sit for them and I was all alone..Nuff said...:)
