Can people stop using the word "sick" to describe cool/bad ass things?

I know TV writers think it's "cool" slang, but it just sounds so fucking douchey when anyone says it.

Maybe I get too easily annoyed though.

It's also annoying and douchey. I remember someone on some reality show introducing his own mother as 'the shit'. Christ. I don't know what that poor woman must have thought, except "My son is the douche."

Here is a fun phrase that isn't used enough

or

"major coolness"

I first heard it in the SoCal punk scene in the 1980s, as in sick boy, sick girl...my completely speculative theory is that is short for classic...any insight?

old style mountain biking, slow, steep and treacherous.

Unless you went over your bars in which case it became
very fast, rocky and painful. Another favorite expression
was doing a, "Sky Ground, Sky Ground" which involve multiple
360 flips followed by your bike doing the same thing.

The bike usually hit you when stopped tumbling. That happened
twice to me on the same trick. I have the chain ring marks on
my old ETTO to prove it.
