Update on Max: His surgery was a success
Max went in to get his ear operated on today; I just brought him home. He's still a bit woozy from the anesthesia, is walking a bit funny, and is not allowed to eat or drink until tomorrow. He has a pink bandage (a boy cat with a pink bandage?!) on his right ear and a lampshade collar. He has to get pain meds for 3 days and antibiotics--inside and out--until the stuff is gone.

He's trying to get the lampshade and his bandage off, thankfully without success, so far. He goes back in Thursday for a bandage change and in 2 weeks to get his stitches out.

I'd like to thank everybody who donated the funds to ensure that Max got the care he needed. When I get some money, I'll make a donation to DU in the names of those who helped me. That's the least I can do.

Sorry, no pics. Don't have a camera.

1. Yay! Glad to hear it
How extensive was the surgery? Three days seems like a long time to be on pain meds. :(

2. Lamp shade collars must super suck.
I feel so bad seeing an animal have to wear those things, though it can provide a laugh or two...just not for them.

Glad to hear Max is on the mend. :)

6. Lampshade collars stink because the cat can't clean himself
I have to wipe him down with a damp cloth, brush, and deshed him every day because he can't. Besides, his own mother, Ruby, is hissing, growling, and whacking at him since he got home. What kind of a mother is she?!

5. Few things are as goofy as a cat on anaesthesia
They get that "dude...huh?" look that is priceless.

7. Oh, that is good news!!
A gentle  for max (don't want to disturb his pink bandage!)

I can picture the poor mite with his little bandage and lampshade -- what a sad sight! :)

I'm so pleased that he's on the mend! :bounce: :toast:  :applause: :woohoo:

Thank you for all of the updates, Meow2.

9. He goes back for a bandage change in 2 days
The bandage had better be either green or blue, preferably the former. Max likes the color green, probably because it's the color of catnip.
