question for audiobook buffs
I rip my audiobooks so I can listen on my iPod touch, but if I update my iPod, it forgets the "now playing" track (the one I was listening to), so I have to try to remember if I was on 56 of 127 tracks or 65. Some of the audiobook publishers split each disc into 99 tracks of less than a minute each! So a 5 disc book will take up almost 500 tracks! WTF?

So, I'm trying a new approach. I use the iTunes "Join CD Tracks" option and make each disc one long track, and then change the preference to remember position. So now, I just have to remember what disc I was on out of 6 or 8 or 12. (I also change the kind to Audiobook and select "skip when shuffling" although those may be redundant.)

Apart from not being able to send a 3-minute track to somebody, which I've never wanted to do, can you think of any downside? Fewer files, easier to use. Win-win, right?

Also, why is it audiobooks almost never come up correctly in the CDDB thing? Completely wrong titles/authors, etc.

And what is it with airline peanuts? Who are these people?
