Classic Julia Child Photo
Folks, if any of you know where I can buy high res versions of this classic Julia Child photo then I would appreciate the information. I have been searching for a while.

Also, if you have any other photos you want to share, please do, it will lighten the afternoon.

Thanks in advance.

1. Is her famed cookbook worth getting? I have an amazon gift certificate and was thinking about
getting it.

3. It depends upon your time and whether you love butter
I bought this cookbook when I was very young but found that it required a skill level and a degree of patience and commitment which I did not possess at the time.

She famously did not spare on the butter or the alcohol, for that matter.

For those dead of winter Sundays when you feel like a major cooking project, and don't care about the calories, this book may be the ticket.

6. thanks for that feedback
I am a pretty good cook, however my staple cookbook has been Fannie Farmer's. If I can't find something that cookbook always had it and it was the best way to start out cooking 20 yrs ago.

I have since bought tons of cookbooks but was curious about this one. Perhaps I may purchase it for those winter Sundays!

7. The Good Housekeeping cookbook was a family staple
One of the nicest gifts anybody ever gave me was my late grandmother's Good Housekeeping cookbook, complete with a Mass card from her funeral in 1969. Ah, the joys of "tomato catchup," buttered celery with white sauce and frozen ginger ale salad. There's even a recipe for buttered noodles... It makes me smile every time I think about it.

12. Whoops, I meant "boiled noodles"
There is a recipe in that old cookbook for boiled noodles, boiled beef brains, boiled macaroni and boiled spaghetti, among many other boiled things.

11. they said her last cookbook was much, much simpler
unlike the movie showed, Julia Child was very flexible and apparently as a result of being on tv and being aware of people's time constraints, she simplified many of the dishes she made, making the recipes more accessible and making them easier to obtain ingredients for.
