Cat passed what looks like a baby wipe? Kinda gross...

I don't actually have baby wipes in the house, but I do have wet wipes, I guess it's possible he ate one.

He hadn't eaten much in the last 24 hours but he has hairball issues, so sometimes if he's getting one he doesn't eat much and I didn't worry. He took a little longer in the box this morning, which I did worry about -- he had PU surgery less than six months ago so if he was straining to pee it would be Really Really Bad. But I saw that he was actually trying to poop. Then he climbed out of the box with a clump hanging down and a clump right on his butt. (He's a long-haired cat, so I assumed they just stuck to him. It happens.) I got up with a paper towel to clean him up, and when I grabbed at the one on his butt and pulled *very* gently -- just enough to have wiped it from his hair -- a length of material in color and consistently to a wet wipe came out. No blood, just a bit of loose stool on it, and he didn't make noise, jerk, or walk away -- actually turned around and sniffed at it, then rubbed up against my leg wanting attention.

I've put it in a baggie just in case there is an emergency vet visit in the future, and I'm watching him closely, but he seems fine. He has already eaten a bit and drank some water this morning since, and was drinking the entire time.

Anyone else had their cat manage to pass some object like this? I am a bit weirded out, but he certainly is not acting like he's in any distress.

a Toyota Corolla once. That was a mess. And when she passed it, it had three flat tires and the trunk wouldn't close right.

Considering my cat is mostly white (he's a Flame Point Himalayan, adopted him from a no-kill shelter), and the material was white it's quite possible it was just a really gnarly hairball. I'm really hoping that's what it was. But it freaked me out, let me tell you, until his behavior reassured me that he thought he was fine.

and so was the Corolla. Hmmmm, maybe it was just a gnarly hairball, too. But, it gets such great gas mileage, I am going to keep driving it!

It was irregular in diameter, starting out rather like a clump and then stringing or stretching near the end a bit, and wasn't something long and narrow wadded up.

The one thing I know he eats a lot of is his own hair, so I'm hoping it was just the first time the preventative Laxatone he gets once a week (which was 4 days ago) actually managed to take care of a bad hairball that way instead of him horking them up.

When you said "stringing or stretching"--that's a dead giveaway. You might want to up the Laxatone to twice a week?

but it turned out to be the paper side of a foil wrapper! Having a puppy is defientlly an experience

give hubby heck for winding his fishing line in the house, because if he doesn't find every snippet on the floor that can also cause problems.

He'd "kill" them by popping them with his claws, and then he'd eat them. Lots of bright colors in the litter box.
