What do Americans think of Aaron Brown?

I first got modern cable TV in 1991. Prior to that I had "farmer TV", CBC and a local independent. During the Gulf War I developed the habit of coming home from work, watching CNN to see what was happening and then changing to CBC to get any meaningful analysis, thoughtful guests, something other than video rehashes.

Aaron Brown has changed my mind about CNN. Surrounded by such luminaries as Wolf Blitzer, Paula Zahn et. al. he shines, at least in my mind. I find his quest for deeper insights almost "Canadian" (with apologies to Americans).

I am curious about how he is seen from the American context.

1. Personally, I think he's great.

He used to be on local news here in Seattle, and back then I was sad to see him leave.

Every day that I can watch him, and sincerely limit my wishes to having him humanely transported to the actuarial department of an insurance company in a small city in the Midwest, where he will be denied further access to Prozac and spend his days poring over tables of figures and live in a modest ranch home until he is dead, is a small but significant personal moral victory.
