1. Thanks for the post ~~ her songs just run through my blood
. . . . my first Carole King Tapestry album was on 8-track. I later got it on vinyl. I forgot how much I love her singing.

I loved that album so much I had it on 8-track, then cassette and also on vinyl.

2. Tapestry is the first album I ever bought for myself.
I still have it. Have a turntable now, so I need to listen to it again.

4. Oh Carol, I am but a fool ...( actually was written about her)
and I'm still a fool for her. What an astonishing amount of not just huge hit songs, but GREAT hit ( and not such hits but still great) songs came out of the talents of the three Queens of the Brill Building: Carol, Cynthia Weil and the late great Ellie Greenwich.... Even if she'd never done Tapestry she'd still be a legend, but she DID do it, and to me, she is among the very greatest songwriters of the 20th century.... And then add a voice that to this day melts this old boy's heart like no one---( except Ronnie Spector; still got schoolboy crushes on both of em).

5. Is it true she's not in the Rock Hall of Fame?
That's a crime.

8. she's in with her songwriting partner Gerry Goffin
so there's that. But not as an artist. Yet.
Is there anyone who didn't have that album? I remember at the time we guys discovered it was an entree into the myterious woman world. Icebreaker and all that. :)

10. It was always a surprise to find out "Carole King wrote that"
But I think the most surprising one was
Don't Bring Me Down by the Animals
