when there is a sticker on the medication bottle that says
"do not take while drinking alcohol" how many drinks, when, would make you skip taking that pill? how many would take an extra pill?

1. If I were on medication that didn't allow me to drink
I wouldn't skip the medication, I would skip the drink.

10. it's a long term med, and the reason that it gives is that it intensifies effect.
which, to me, is a good thing. just don't want to go to far.

2. Well....
Take a Vicodan or two with some booze and you might drop dead from liver failure...not from the Vicodan, but from the tylenol that is in it.

So, I would be careful about gaming it.

3. I did not know that Vicodan
had Tylenol in it.

I can't take Vicodan, do I guess I never researched it.

4. I think they do make a type that has...
Advil or similar in it...but when you read the Vicodin label, it will say something like 5/500mg. The 5 refers to the Vicodin, the 500 mg refers to the Tylenol.

13. I am allergic to codiene
get hives, nauseous, that sort of stuff.


Maybe if I could tolerate taking it, the stuff in codiene that keeps you awake would balance with the stuff in tylenol that puts you to sleep.

15. I have to be very careful with pain meds because...
I love them so much.

I like the stuff they give you in the hospital.

I had pancreatitis once, and they had me on an IV of Fentanyl (or however you spell it) for a week. I barely remember anything except how good I felt.

24. just wondering what kind of stories the du'ers would have to tell.
i have a small bit of alcohol in my system by the time i take the night time meds. i am not a big drinker. beer or wine with dinner, but doesn't go much farther than that. if i do, i skip the pills.
