Are the leaves changing in your area yet?
Here in the Phoenix area what few trees change color and lose leaves won't do it til late November and through December.
It's one of the very few things I miss from living back east... a nice crisp, colorful Fall season.

2. Don't worry about the warm weather right now...
You'll probably have snow on the ground by Halloween. :P

3. Thankfully, the leaves never change here!
Lots and lots of evergreens and the climate to keep things green. Gotta love it to live here :D

23. Our dead trees were picked up very quickly.
Only took one month.

Some jerk came down the street and started a fire in one pile.

With the dry leaves the fire started easy.

30. I didn't mean actual dead trees...
;)

I meant that without leaves, or even when they are turning, they remind me too much of dead trees. I want them with lovely green leaves on them all year round :D
Otherwise, it's too depressing and bleak..........................:P

7. We always get some trees starting early, in August, but it is a loooong process.
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 01:08 PM by Arugula Latte
There will be leaves on some trees until mid-to-late November. (This is Portland, Ore.) From what I remember about the fall when I lived on the East Coast, it seemed like the leaf change there was faster. Boom! One day you wake up and everything is red and gold.

Edited to add, we have LOTS of evergreens here (Doug firs, Western Cedars) so winter is a lot greener here than in the mid-Atlantic East Coast (I lived in DC).

18. It's spectacular.
I've lived in various places -- Ohio, San Francisco area, Wash. DC, Colorado (for a summer) -- and I just love the Northwest scenery.

Our fair city (on a clear day):

One of my favorite places, Ecola State Park (Oregon):

Opal Creek:

Sparks Lake (camped here last summer):

21. I do love the desert, especially at twilight. It does have a unique beauty.
I'm kind of attached to the tree canopy now, though. I like my shade. :)

or at least it will be here in AZ in a few weeks when we're finally done with 100 degree temps.

26. I live in Ontario. I'm sure it is cozy in AZ in the fall. I fell cozy way up here when we go to our
cottage in Quebec and relax around the fire. That is cozy.

15. Starting now (western NY)
Right on schedule. Warmish days but cool night have started things moving. We also haven't had much rain lately, which is saying something, as we were downright soggy (and cold) most of the summer.

34. Leaves are allready turning here in Ontario. I saw one red red leaf on the sidewalk today.
I wanted to point and scream like a girl does in a Canadian commercial from years ago. I was pretty sad all day. It was not warm outside. How could we go from hot hot weather in late August to cold weather now only two weeks later. I'll never get used to that.

36. In Colorado, Yes they are
A few trees here & there in the Denver area, but up in the high country the aspens are a-changing. I was in Breckenridge (Summit County) last weekend and will be in Leadville this weekend - which should be the optimal leaf-peeping weekend.

While in Breck last weekend, I experienced thunder-sleet, lightning and a very nice dusting of snow on the uppermost peaks; it made for a beautiful Sunday morning.
