And then, here's mine. I report, you decide, but keep in mind to teach your children type- and penmanship, because the future will be retro. Believe me on this.

The olivetti valentine, designed by Ettore Sottsass and Perry Klein, manufactured in Barcelona, Spain, 1969. Works like a charm, even with the old ribbon in it, but I'll get a new one soon.

2. LOL!
It's better left untranslated for now. ;)

The design is great, and that's why this one's on display in the MoMA. It's in pristine condition, although the keys are a little bit small, and I don't even have big fingertips.

Ah, sweetie, your machine is lovely!

I'm going to have my husband look at your German typewriting...

I'm dying to know what it says...;)

Nice job!

9. It's just scribbling.
And lots of slang/self made words, inspired by German Author Arno Schmidt. I fear that translation won't be easy.

23. It's nübbeln.
It's a horse-term, somewhat. Translation would be 'nibbling.' Don't run it through Babelfish, it'll break. ;)

Heidi's is a lot more sturdier and the keys are nicer, I have to admit. But I wanted this one. :hi:

12. It was on German language setting, but it's easy to change it,
although it doesn't do non-latin languages. It's a QWERTZ keyboard (you know, foreign things!) and has all the ü's and ä's and ö's I need!

21. Thank you!
I have to say, it was quite an experience, and I'm glad I got one. I had an olivetti lettera around 30 years ago, and this one here brought back a certain feeling. Of course, nothing beats handwriting, but this comes second. Typing on a computer comes, let's see, way last.

Get one! :hi:
