Aerosmith 1978 Live - Rats In The Cellar and Seasons of Wither, Texas Jam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PqBOhhEUKFw

"Rocks" is probably my favorite Aerosmith album, and "Rats In The Cellar" is one of the best tracks. This isn't a great performance, but it is the pre-breakup, pre-rehab, pre-comeback Aerosmith.

And yes, I know there are many who feel that Aerosmith ALWAYS sucked and was NEVER "great," but that's the purpose of this thread...post bands YOU like, regardless of how the public viewed them then, or now.

3. "Rocks" is just a solid, "go-to" classic album from that era...
...I like the occasional song from the post-comeback band (which began, I guess, with "Permanent Vacation," since they tried for a comback and failed with "Done With Mirrors")...

...but for the most part, in 2009, I've written them off as sell-outs. Joe Perry is straining at the bit to pull a Journey / Yes and put in a new lead singer so he can start collecting those tour bucks. I almost hope that he does it, so their last remaining shred of credibility can leave the building once and for all.

4. They lost me after "Done With Mirrors"

I think "Living On The Edge" is the only song I've liked from them since.
