OMG. Some assholes behind me picked NOW to run their chainsaw at full bore.

It's almost 7pm people! I've been stressed out at work ALL DAY. My eyes are all jacked up, giving me headaches and nausea. I am exhausted. And ALL I can hear is the non-stop scream of a chainsaw. I tolerated it well for awhile, but I've moved well past that into homicidal territory.

Fucking HELL.

you work DAYS - as a night worker it is SOP for me to have to listen to lawn mowers, weed wackers and all the fucked up shit people do during the day while I am trying to sleep - EVERY FUCKING DAY - it is VERY COMMON for me to work 12 hours all night on 3 or 4 hours sleep

2. I FEEL you, sister.
BTDT - and I TOTALLY get it. It's why I don't leave my dog alone outside in the yard when I leave, why I don't mow at the asscrack of dawn, and why I try to be, overall, conscientious of others that are "not me".

Thankfully the area I live in is mostly quiet - I slept all weekend because I wasn't feeling well, with no issue.

I think I'd have to kill someone if I were still in your situation though. My tolerance level is WAY low anymore.

7. When I lived inthe femamobile and all the debris was being
cleared and the heavy equipment used and even when the lawnmowers and weedeaters and chainsaws at maximum usage, I discovered that the fan is a wonderful "white noise" - ear plugs alone didn't work.

14. I've tried those white noise things
Edited on Mon Sep-21-09 10:16 PM by Skittles
but I end up hearing patterns and predicting noises - which kept my mind active. I've found that a cheap fan works wonders. :D

8. put a fan on in your room, let it blow across you and toward you
it will help keep the air circulating and it will help cut down the noise from outside. The rhythm becomes like a metronome and almost hypnotic.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well.

17. I've even learned to travel with one - that helps in those hotels
when the air doesn't flow just right and/or that have the paper thin walls.

It helps when you are staying with family that doesn't want to go to sleep when you do or who like the house hotter than you do.

I keep one in my guest room so my guests have it to use for the same reasons.

13. I don't think a fan will help.
The noise is @ the wall at the head of my bed. 7:45 and they are STILL going by the way. They seem to stop and get my hopes up from time to time, then turn it on again.

As for not feeling well.... countdown to the endo is ON. Appointment is Thursday afternoon, and I can't WAIT. I seriously slept almost all weekend! The only times I got out of bed from after work on Friday to this morning were to let dogs out, use the restroom, get water, etc.

15. Change the position of your head.
Move your pillow to where your feet are.

I had to do that in the winter when I was in the femamobile, it kept me from waking up with headaches because of the cold.

Put the fan on so it blows over you but not directly at your head.

I'm so glad you have the appointment. I've had you in my prayers.

19. They have finally stopped.
Edited on Mon Sep-21-09 10:27 PM by Madrone
Bodhi was unperturbed by them when he was outside. :eyes: I was thinking about grabbing my .22 and seeing if I still have good aim, though! :P

Mostly they were making my head hurt and setting my nerves on edge. Dave must have told some people to take chainsaws over to that house and start cutting up the wood to haul it away. They were soooooooooooo loud. It was a ginormous chainsaw too. LOUD and BIG. Compensating! :)

It's not like they couldn't saw wood during the day. Their timing = impeccable.

I'm sure your aim would be just fine - motivation makes for good marksmanship. ;)

21. It took awhile before it really started bothering me.
They were going at it for awhile.

Gonna go to bed now but just FYI - the tweeker is apparently no longer the recipient of 3 hots and a cot. From what I could piece together online she's been released by court order until trial. She's tried to call me once, and instant message me. I didn't respond. Unfortunately for her - this train's left the station. I'm doooooooooone. Done enabling and letting her steal from me anyway. I have a "call me when you're 6mos clean and sober" mentality anymore -- don't trust her, can't afford her any longer. Financially OR emotionally.

Anyway - now that I've highjacked my own thread.... Good night! :)

Just think, if dumbass Thayne dated in his own age group, we'd be living in my house in Austin. How life changes. :)

Good night. :loveya:
