Last night I saw THE GREATEST INVENTION EVER!
It is the same size as a USB Stick. BUT, it holds all your computer in the stick. All of your data, all your photos and most importantly, all your programs (or their programs that match yours) and applications.

So if you have one of these, you can sit down at any computer anywhere on any platform, and put this thing in and voila, you have your computer right there. And even better, it leaves absolutely no trace of yuo ever being at that computer.

It is impossible to have stolen, they are encrypted so nobody can get your data. And if you lose it, the compnay will replace it (thanks to storage) with all your stuff on it if you use the online storage....

The cost is 300 bucks and 100 a year for the operation, storage, etc...

3. The greatest invention ever is the alarm clock that spurts out a flying top that must be inserted
before the alarm sound will stop.

Brilliant.

4. I thought you could do that now...
most computers let you boot from the USB port, so a thumb drive with an OS on it would boot and should leave no trace.

5. But all your applications?
and your data, so you always have your entire computing environment with you at all times.

6. I haven't tried Windows, but Linux distros work...
off of thumb drives. Also DVDs, CDs, portable hard drives...

Windows has the registry, and gets picky if you move it from machine to machine, so it might be tricky but I don't know why it wouldn't be doable to some extent. When I get around to it I should try just to see it it works at all.

Yeah, if you need Windows, it could be a problem. I've got a lot of Windows apps and I'm not jumping at the thought of using WINE or some other kludge to run them, but for a lot of stuff, data files should be compatible. And there are a lot of apps available for both platforms.
