I really miss my father today
Edited on Thu Mar-18-04 02:13 PM by lionesspriyanka
I love him and hes soo far away from me...sometimes i think i just go back home...its like living with only half a heart,...he gives me everything thats strong and confident and i really wish he could be here with me...i have this pain whenever i think of him and i think of him a lot...

i am afraid that i will never get to spend more than two weeks with him...

thanks for letting me share...

1. where is he now..?

I have homesick feelings now & then, though my dad and I are kind of opposites in many ways (he watches FOX and loves Bush, for one thing) so we don't always get much sharing done like we used to. Lately that is even more so... though my parents are great people, I had to get my strength and confidence myself, by leaving home :(

5. wow, that IS far
Mine are out there on the east coast, in VA. You could almost be describing my mom, who I suspect is a closet Dem :)

Sounds like a very special relationship you have with him... do you ever go back and visit?

8. that's cool, though sometimes a year can seem so long...
I try to get back once a year too, it's like seeing my hometown as a tourist...

Your dad sounds like he calls them as he sees them, and sees well. He's a Dem, after all!

You dated boys? :silly:

2. At Least You Have That Option
My father passed away in 1991. And my mother in 1998. I miss both of them every day.

12. you are so right
Both of my parents have passed away since 1997. Now I have a younger brother that is on his way out with cancer anytime now.

This will leave 3 members in our entire family left, including myself.

I never thought it could be possible to miss people so very much. Just last night I had a dream about my only uncle (Dad's brother). He passed away 1-1/2 years before my Dad. :(

Thanks for your most thoughtful post(s) ... everyone! We really need to appreciate our living relations while they are still here.

Often I look back and wonder if I could have done things better, but it is too late now.

15. i miss my father too
except he is in the next room, doesn't know who i am. he was an excellent orator, and now he can only make one noise, loud or quiet.

i really started to post about him yesterday. it is nice to see this karmic connection here. thanks for sharing. enjoy the telephone conversations.

16. Enjoy dad while you can...
...I lost my mom three years ago next month. She died too young at 64. Both her parents lived well into their nineties. She succumed to a household accident---the kind of thing you read about but never think will happen to your family. She shows up in my dreams at least once a week.

Hey, your love for your father is quite clear. That's the most important thing of all.
