1. I developed a two-step proof of that theorem years ago, but the CIA made me keep it quiet.
And so I continue to sit on it.

3. You're a regular Fermat. Now we have to wait around for centuries to have someone
produce the proof.

4. How narrow were the margins in that book?

If Fermat found a very short proof (such as one consisting of two lines) then why couldn't he fit it into the margin? Was at least one line of the proof extremely long?

5. Fermat did not say that his proof was short.
On the contrary, he said it was too long.

I have seen Andrew Wiles, by the way, walking along the sidewalk by the golf course near the Institute of Advanced Studies.

It's the remarkable thing about this area, that you can see the best minds in the world just walking around on the streets.

6. "Fermat did not say that his proof was short."
Yes, that was my impression. Why did you call Rabrrrrrr a regular Fermat?

For example, Fermat didn't decide that we wouldn't disclose his proof. It seems that Fermat merely neglected to put it into writing.
