Chicks: a question!
I am very proud of myself that I didn't cut my hair this summer. I usually freak and chop it all off.

My question.. wtf?!? How long until It'll stay tight with 1-2 rubberbands? Today was my first day "out there" with it properly put up and it lasted about 2 hours before I got all awry :)

I don't wanna cut it off this late in the game.

:hi:

2. Too old to be a chick....
:hi:
Don't ever cut that hair again! Hair grows about 1/2" per month...
I repeat. Do not cut your hair again. Men were born to let it grow and flow.
Stop freaking out!

peace~

4. Yea.. but..
I have occassion to need to look semi-professional. The straggly stuff that falls from the rubberbands is killing me!

Cut 'em?

:silly:

8. Can't cut the straggly stuff....
When the occasion arises to look semi-professional, straggles are okay as they're semi-professional.
And who is to judge you by your hair?? Glue it down or something....I have no answer. My son just chopped three feet of beautiful hair...sold out to 'the man'....I'm in mourning:-(

peace~

14. DON'T use rubber bands ...

I'm not a "chick" but I had long hair (down to the middle of my back) for about a decade.

Rubber bands are the devil.

Get thee to the gettin' place and get some small ponytail holders. The tight little black ones work well when your hair is still a bit shorter or if it is thin. If it's thick and/or when it grows longer, you can get the thicker ones or tie it off with a leather strap.

As for the little hairs that fall out, use a bit of moose or some gel. Just apply it to the hair on either side at the base of your head, then tie the hair back as normal. It keeps the bits of it from falling out most of the day.

19. Psst ...
They're in the women's haircare section. Great place to meet ladies who'll swoon over both your long hair and the comfort you display in your sexuality by pausing to shop there. :)

But if you insist on rubberbands, learn to live with pain, growing bald spots, rampant flyaways.

22. Hair gel then ...

Seriously. Just a bit of it on the sides near the base, which is where the flyaways come from. A small bottle can last six months.

Sorry ... I misunderstood. By rubber bands, I thought you literally meant rubber bands. I couldn't find a holder one day, used a rubber band as a replacement, and managed to pull out a sizable chunk of hair from the base of my skull. Hurt like hell and made me look ridiculous.

(BTW, I've just realized I'm obsessed with giving out hair advice because so much of mine has left me.)

5. I hope you are wearing flameproof underwear.
Calling women "chicks" is going to get you seriously flamed.

And, why don't you want some input from guys? Some of us either used to have or currently have long hair too. :)

Normally, if your hair isn't fine and thin, your hair needs to extend a few inches beyond the hair band in order for the hair band to stay on comfortably.

12. I have a few more days
until I see my Pain Management doctor and replace the med that was causing me so many problems recently. That was the med that also controlled the pain and tremors in my hands, so it will be nice to get more use of my hands back again.

I hope you are doing well overall.

15. glue/goop/spray, bobby pins, or just constant readjustment
get those covered bands that don't have the metal crimp holding them together - they are easier to pull out when you need to readjust. Plain rubberbands suck ass.

<<these are the thicker ones, I couldn't find a pic of the regular ones that I like better

oh and patience - when it gets long enough it will stay back better

even then the front sides will still get loose some - I keep mine in two side ponytails now but wore it in one in the back a lot. the two hold better but not sure how good that look would be on a guy - braided like Willie maybe but just ponytails? meh

25. I'm proud of you, too.
Don't ever cut your hair unless it's what you really want to do.

I got mine cut yesterday. It's almost too short, but I'm not complaining because it is actually a really good cut. :)
