having seen a lot of his work, he seems to be one of those people who has fallen into a career trap of having caught on in comedy when it does not work for him as a performer...he's actually a good actor in dramatic roles like John in Return to Paradise and Novak in The Cell (so much so that he almost keeps you from noticing that J. Lo cannot act.) to say nothing of this breakthrough performance of Trent in Swingers (which despite the quotes and clips frequently shown of his performance is not a comedic film...the character of Trent is actually quite pathetic and pitiable...it's hard to pull off that type of role and still make the audience care about the character.)
