1. My dear mix!
Not long.

I lurked some in January 2005, and joined in early February.

I wanted to see what the hell was going on, and how could I use those cool smileys!

I had no understanding of a message board, or how it worked, and I was intrigued.

2. I started lurking around 2002, I think, and joined finally in 2007, I think.

:hi:

But that doesn't say much about commitment, does it?

3. About 3 months
I visited a few times, but didn't get much into it, I was just looking to see what was out there. All I saw was the front page, which was not hugely impressive to me.

Then FDL changed its format, and I just didn't care for the look, and started frequenting here. I discovered the different areas and more rapid pace of this site, and I've been coming here daily ever since. I even discovered I could access it on my phone recently. Though its hard to use there, so I only do that in moments of unutterable boredom.

4. I tried coming in, but people saw my screen name and ran me out on a rail. I came back
quite a while later and decided not to let them get the best of me, since there were so many intelligent, nice people here worth socializing with. No point in letting a few rude people dictate what I do.

6. My relationship with DU is more of a friends-with-benefits thing
than a real committment.

Kidding, kidding. I lurked for a long while before I committed.
