Today's College Football Thread
Some highlights from today's schedule:

Early Games
Georgia at Tennessee
Auburn at Arkansas
Houston at Mississippi State

Afternoon Games
Alabama at Mississippi
Wisconsin at Ohio State

Evening Games
Stanford (surprisingly, they're atop the Pac 10 at the moment) at Oregon State
TCU at Air Force
Florida at LSU
Georgia Tech at Florida State
Michigan at Iowa

Nightcaps
BYU at UNLV
Arizona at Washington

Oklahoma plays Baylor today, and Sam Bradford makes his return from injury, so things are looking up for my Sooners. So who does your team play today, and what games are you looking forward to?

1. Lots of good games especially Stanford - Oregon St
I don't think the Devils are on TV today but they play Washington St on the road and Palouse is a difficult place to play but they are 21 point favorites. My listings doesn't say it's on any channel but I'll be on the lookout for it. Go Devils. :bounce:

2. Looks like Ariaona will have a tough game against U of Washington.
Washington's QB Jake Locker looks very good
and the Huskies are playing very well.

Wildcat RB Nic Grigsby is going to play with pain
from a separated shoulder. Hopefully he'll do well.

UW has had some good games, but they've had bad moments too (like their inability to finish at Notre Dame last week). Locker is for real, though. Anyway, I'm looking forward to that game tonight. :woohoo:

3. I have nothing good to say. Still pouting from Thursday's game.
When I finally turned it off, it was 12-0, Missouri over Nebraska.

When I looked online for the final score the next morning -- 27-12, Nebraska. Fucking fuck.

12. I was there...
In the rain, feet absolutely soaked. Glad I had a poncho on, though. And that they managed to have some green ones in a box full of mostly red (rival team's colors).

Sloppy game, but fun to watch. Except for those interceptions...

You won't believe how I'm following the Devils game. There is no gamecast on ESPN but there is a 'conversation' and there is a poster giving play-by-play updates. Sullivan ran it in for the half but missed the XP to go up 13-0. It seems to me to be another case of great defense and awful offense.

for no good reason? He did that to Derek Anderson when things weren't so super in 2002 for
Oregon State.

There was gnashing of teeth in later years.

40. Osweiler got some junk time in games vs Idaho St and UL Monroe
Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 07:17 PM by JonLP24
But I think Sullivan is still playing but it's really unclear because I'm following play-by-play by a poster on ESPN scoreboard conversation. But about the redshirt status was already gone if it was ever there because he got in junk time at ID st and ULM.

Oregon State has a big lead on Stanford. I know I'll be universally laughed at but they're my favorites to win the Pac-10. <------Nevermind this. I forgot they lost to Arizona. I thought they were undefeated in Conf. play when I posted this but they still have as good as shot as any team in Pac-10 to win it.

Edited on Sat Oct-10-09 07:23 PM by Twillig
The local radio guys pointed out a picture in the Ariz repub. paper that showed Sullivan in the
damn near exact posture of a defeated, beaten up, bloodied, Y.A. Tittle on his knees head down.
(any google image search will show it, no need to embed this one. )

Sullivan had his helmet on, of course.

Win the Pac-10 (you do mean the beavs?)??

Uh, the beavs gotta play USC in the coliseum it's been a long time since they got a win there. But it was 40 years
about that long a losing streak at Sun Devil stadium. (edit) which ended last week.

I do think the conference championship is up for grabs, at any rate. USC hasn't been USC.

44. I forgot that they lost to Arizona
when I made those comments. That AZ loss is going to kill them as far as conference w-l goes. But I think they still have a shot to win the title but it's certainly won't be easy.

The Arizona St defense has been great and give major props to DE for recruiting landing the highest rated recruit to ever come to Arizona St(Vontaze Burfict) but Sullivan is killing this team. The game against Georgia would've easily been won if Sullivan could complete passes down field, half his completions were checkdowns to Dimitri Nance in that game.

Anyways Oregon St is putting on a show against Stanford.

Of course, Quizz is running like a maniac. 133 yrds so far with just less than 10 minutes left in first half.

I am best pleased.

I dunno if Stanford can run their way back into the game. The air attack has been lacking.

One of the weirdest INTs for a touchdown I've ever seen.

But five turnovers just killed us. Congrats, Hawkeyes.

85. 5 turnovers yielded Iowa all of 6 points. Take away the turnovers
and Iowa wins 30-21. BTW thanks and we only need to win 31 more games in a row vs UM to even the series.

89. But negated possible Michigan points
We were driving well when two of those turnovers occurred.

31 in a row....hmmm, don't see it happening. Sorry...:hi:

82. You put your right foot in,

You put your right foot out,
You put your right foot in
And you shake it all about.
You do the Hokey Pokey
And you turn yourself around,
That's what it's all about!!

69. And is ANYONE going to play defense at FSU / Ga Tech?
42-38, two minutes to go in the third quarter. It's a stinkin' track meet.
