29. I agree totally. But as bleak as it is, I have to believe that the song is, in an odd way, hopeful
Edited on Sun Oct-11-09 01:00 AM by EastTennesseeDem
The symphonic portion that comes along about 3 and a half minutes in and continues to the end just has a hopeful sound to it. I don't know.

But yeah, Hope of the States were great, but they are no more. Their guitarist hanged himself before that album was ever released.

Can't find any good videos of their best stuff on youtube unfortunately. Best live show I've ever been to, with the possible exception of Purple Rain.

Also: St. Bushmill's Choir - Super fun Punk Irish/Folk stuff.

Everyone throwing beer on each other for 2 hours at their live shows was always EPIC.

Gravikords, Whirlies and Pyrophones - Abridged versionBook by Bart Hopkin with an introduction by Tom Waits, with audio CD containing recordings by 19 featured artists.

For several years this collection has been unavailable except for used copies at high prices from resellers. Just recently the publisher recently located a couple of boxes that had been overlooked in a corner someplace. He sent them our way and we're making them available to you.
This collection takes the form of a 96-page, CD-sized hardbound book with audio CD bound in, featuring informative text, wonderful photographs, and great music of 19 of the most creative instrument makers from around the world.

38. "Cow"- Mike Sophia
Edited on Sun Oct-11-09 02:43 AM by enigmatic
Listen to the version on his myspace page before you watch the video; "Cow" is weird, a little creepy, and infectously wonderful, all wrapped up in cheap Casio keyboards and badly mixed Speak-And-Spell barnyard noises. I heard it several years ago through a friend's copy, and against all reason it's become one of my all-time favorite songs, even though I've hardly ever played it for anyone else, lest they think I've gone insane.

It's a love-it or hate-it song, so be prepared; either way, you won't be able to get the chorus out of your head, much to your chagrin.

Little Duckie Duddle.

However, my lyrics were (very slightly different):

Little Duckie Duddle went wading in a puddle
Went wading a puddle quite small.
Said he it doesn't matter, how much I splish and splatter
I'm just a little duckie, after all - QUACK QUACK!

American composer 1911-2000. This is part of his 2nd symphony, "Mysterious Mountain". Most of his music was about mountains, space, other natural settings, or Armenian spirituality and heritage.
