None of my teachers inspired me. And, I didn't have a particular favourite.

it's me and Cruzer, the real furry little devil

He's been a College instructor for 10 years, and a High School English teacher for another 10 years, he also teaches a Graduate course for other teachers...yet he can't go back to teaching High School because of "Every Child Left Behind." Go figure.

Science teacher in 9th grade and 12th grade. I went to an all girl high school, and I remember her once in class talking about how few women there are in the sciences and how girls lose interest in math, etc., and I very clearly remember her looking at us and saying, "don't let anyone ever tell you you can't do it just because you're a girl."

I wrote it in the inside cover of my physics book, and I sent her a thank you letter when I was accepted into grad school for physics. :)

There were certainly others - Mr. C, another science teacher, and Mr. D, our drama teacher, also stick out as great teachers who just really taught me to love to learn.

She was a pretty 22-year-old in her first year of teaching. Sorry for the reason. :)

his name is Mr. Berndt, he gives his whole life to his students, hes the first teacher there in the morning and the last to leave in the afternoon to allow all of his students extra time to complete thier work, labs, ect. he gives out his home phone number at the beginning of the year and takes phone calls from students until 2 or 3 at night sometimes regarding homework. im a member of his AP class which does a basically a college level physics course in less time than the colleges do, he spends about 3 hours a night grading our work alone, and he has other classes on top of that. this man diserves some sort of award, only reason i got became in physics/math at all, and now im looking at carrying it into college and beyond.

Jim Cuneo, social studies, 9th grade, and Allan Sterrett, 11th and 12th grade English. I was lucky enough to have Mr. Sterrett two years, when he switched from teaching 11th to teaching 12th grade English. Got the best English teacher two years in a row!

The first, Mr. Thorsen, taught freshman world history. He came on the heels of a really bad eighth-grade teacher and rejuvenated my interest in social sciences. He taught us about wars by letting us throw paper balls around (and yes, we did learn something). :)

Mr. Sabathne taught AP United States history and did a really nice job of debunking the conservative propaganda that had prevailed in the curriculum at that point. I think he would be right at home here at DU. Oh, and those 35-minute timed essays every other week did wonders for my writing skills...sure makes college easier.

.. and he was a brilliant English teacher and the main reason why I'm an English teacher (though you'll have to ask my students how good I am).

He also learnt the first two books of Milton's Paradise Lost by heart as a bet, which is a pretty cool party trick.

The Skin

two of my college professors. Pete taught History and had the entire class enthralled. It was like we were there (whatever he happened to be lecturing about). God..he was incredible. Also Don, my Geology professor. I never thought rock formations could have me in awe but it was the way he taught! I tell ya...for people who love school and love to learn...there's nothing better than a wonderful teacher.

He was wonderful. He brought history to life. I loved his class!
