2. While in her presence, did you refer to her as your "old" girlfriend?
How did that work for you?

7. Man, we were together in the early 90's.
For a few great months. She's soon to be, well younger than me, and I'm soon to be 50. We talked on the phone for like 2 hours and slid right back into that easy groove.

It was great.

10. No. She's in Salem Or and I'm in Stockton Ca.
Not a far drive, or a nice train trip. You guys are really great, all of you, for asking.

11. You never know.
I've been a very bad boy most of my life, and just the fact that she sought me out and is still willing to talk to me is great.

If nothing else, I can always use another good friend.

13. Bad boys, in my experience, can make excellent life partners...
Once they decide to settle down.

I know whereof I speak, too...

17. Yeah, my husband was one of those and now he is Mr Family Guy

Although, I have to say I earned it as I was the one who helped him through his 'reform' period.

Long five years THAT was....

But, it was worth it :)

I'm always friendly with my exes whenever possible.

No point in having been together at all if you didn't basically enjoy each other's company, right?

No reason enjoying each other's company has to end if the breakup was unabusive and amicable. And LOTS of couples find out they have unfinished business many years later. Even if not, ancient history is no reason to write off a friend. Friends who Knew You When (and still like you!) are the best kind.

16. If you're married, be careful.
I reunited with my old boyfriend in 2000 when we were both married to other people -- we're now married to each other. It's wonderful, of course, but getting out of the marriages was not easy.
