Am I gettin...(gulp)...OLD?
So I'm driving down the road today on my way home from doing errands. Zip, zop, zoom, three cars swoop into my lane in front of me, one after another. I am witnessing an apparent statistical anomaly; seems that none of these cars have functioning turn signals.
Then I notice the hairstyle of the driver in the car in front of me...driver is young, female, and *bounce bounce bounce*.
Look at my dashboard clock- AHA! Statistical anomaly explained...turn signals are probably functional; it's the drivers who are at fault here.
Damned high-school kids...:grr:

The car in front of me makes another lane change, identical to the one that brought her into my lane (i.e, sans signaling first).
This allows me to pull up next to them. Yep, both driver and passenger are very young, *bouncy bouncy bouncy* and the radio is BLASTING away.
I'm thinking "Girl, you keep driving like that, you're going to have an accident within a week.":grr:

But then (since we're at a stoplight) I observe them for a minute. Oblivious? Yeah...but they're teenagers, and they're so obviously enjoying the fact that they are OUT of school for the day, and the weather is a lovely 60 degrees (it really was a beautiful day) and she's got a car and likes the song on the radio...in other words, she's YOUNG.
Life's pretty good just this minute.

I can remember feeling like that, way back in the day...(hope I was a better driver though )

I was still quite annoyed about the way she handled her lane-changes, but I didn't say anything to her through the open window of her car...
A). she probably wouldn't have heard me, what with the stereo being so loud and
B). confrontations like that rarely accomplish anything, especially if there's a witness (her friend in the passenger seat)...
the message gets lost in the need to save face...oh, you've all seen how this sort of thing goes, right?:banghead:

...but not quite as annoyed as I'd been right off the bat.

I went on home, wondering if I oughta be shouting at the clouds to get off my lawn....
